PSG are ready for Champions League glory, says Ibra

The Sweden star feels the side is far stronger following another summer of spending and is better prepared after last season's exploits in the competition
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is confident that Paris Saint-Germain have what it takes to challenge for the Champions League in 2013-14.

The Ligue 1 champions reached the quarter-final stage last year before being edged out by Barcelona on away goals, but the Sweden star believes their experience in the tournament last season - coupled with another summer of big investment in the squad - has left les Parisiens with a genuine chance of European glory.

Speaking to reporters prior to PSG's friendly match with Real Madrid in Sweden, he said: "The team is even better. Last year, things went well for us in the Champions League. We didn't win it but we still played well. We know better now.

"There are new players who have arrived and will give us more. We won the French championship. We could already start to envisage winning the European cup. This is already a good start."

Laurent Blanc's side have already splashed out around €116 million on Edinson Cavani, Marquinhos and Lucas Digne this summer, and have been linked with moves for the likes of Daniele De Rossi and Cristiano Ronaldo, too.
