Panama 0-0 Mexico

El Tri back to tying ways

The Mexico national team drew its seventh game out of eight in 2013, tying 0-0 with Panama in World Cup qualifying.

A muted first half in Panama City only offered a penalty claim for Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez in terms of chances until stoppage time. Giovani Dos Santos funneled the ball to the right, and Javier Aquino bent a cross into the box. Chicharito's near-post run connected, but his first-time shot hit the outside netting in the Panamanian rain.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Blas Perez redirected a corner through traffic. Somehow Jesus Corona dove to smother what looked like a sure goal.

With the game headed toward its end, Chicharito came off for Aldo De Nigris, who scored the only goal in Jamaica on Tuesday. On the sideline, a physio helped the Manchester United striker stretch his leg.

Mexico has kept four clean sheets out of five Hexagonal matches. However, El Tri has only scored three goals in the same stretch. Up next for Jose Manuel 'Chepo' de la Torre's side is Costa Rica on June 11.
